Event Registration Techniques

Do you want some proven event registration techniques for your next event, conference or seminar?  If you do not have enough attendees at your next event, will it be considered unsuccessful?  For many companies, planning a successful event, conference or seminar is a new task.

The best advice is to start early with an event timeline plan.  Three to six months before the actual event is recommended, especially if attendees have to travel or get hotel reservations.  Next, you should plan each step of the process and decide if it will be completed in-house or outsourced.   An example of a simple event timeline plan would be:

02.24.2012 – Finalization of collateral (both print and email)

03.12.2012 – Evaluation of telemarketing companies (for attendee registration)

03.26.2012 – Decision to move forward with event registration telemarketing

04.09.2012 – First mailer (and email if possible) sent

04.16.2012 – Initial telemarketing calls begin

04.30.2012 – Send additional collateral and continue event registration calls

05.26.2012 – Final confirmation emails and calls

06.07.2012 – Event Start
